Browlift Patient:
The endoscopic brow lift goes very well with other procedures particularly blepharoplasty and skin care. In this photo you see the results of a patient who has had a combination of an endoscopic forehead lift with an upper lid blepharoplasty after pretreating her skin for six months with a good skin care program. You will note that despite the lift she gets only a gentle elevation to her brows without looking surprised or unnatural. If you look closely at the shadow of light that shows the brow ridge (the bone of the upper eye) you will see the position of the eyebrow changes only approximately 1 cm. The net effect of this, however, is to lift some of those heavy tissues that previously came down and encroached upon her upper eyelid skin. Often, in combination with a good skin care program, we can avoid surgery on the lower eyelids just by improving the skin health and tightness with high-strength prescription-grade skin care. |

Browlift Patient:
Having eyelid surgery should be more than just removing skin. To make the eyes have a youthful natural and refreshed appearance the tissues of the brow need to be addressed as well. |

Browlift Patient:
" I want to do my eyes" This is a common request from patients. But my response isn't always, sure, lets remove eyelid skin. This patients before and after pictures show a nice change that removes the "tired" eyes look from the outside of the eyes ..... yet she did not have any eyelid surgery! She had a brow lift. The thick tissue at the edge of her upper eyes is brow tissue that has fallen over the bony orbital rim. Notice after her Browlift, as we see her eyes, that her eyes are "carved" and require no fat removal. |

Browlift Patient:
Endoscopic forehead lifts or endoscopic browlifts can take the tired, heavy brow tissue that pushes down the eyelashes and elevate it so that we can see the shelf of the upper eyelid. Without a browlift, in order to attempt to relieve this weight, you would have to remove all the skin between the eyelashes and the eyebrow. This, of course, would be unnatural. Another side effect of not doing a browlift when doing upper eyelid surgery is that blepharoplasty actually will pull the brows down and worsen the droopiness of the brow. Notice how much of an improvement she has with elevation through hidden incisions behind her hairline of the brow tissue. Notice that she looks natural and not "surprised". |

Browlift Patient:
Notice in the preop photograph she has wrinkles in her forehead. These wrinkles are caused by her constantly lifting her eyebrows in order to see better because of the heavy weight of the eyelid and eyebrow skin, which together are pushing her eyelashes down and blocking her visual field. In order to actually help her see better, she needed a combination of blepharoplasty and browlift. In a case like this insurance may actually cover the procedure. This isn't a guarantee; however in our opinion it is a case where this is medically indicated. As you can see in her "before" photos the heavy eyelid and eyebrow tissue actually comes down over her eyes and blocks her vision. Notice afterwards that she looks very natural and rested. Her endoscopic forehead incisions are hidden in her hair and traveled around the nerves to help protect her sensation and her function. She looks natural and not "surprised" of "pulled to tight". |

Browlift Patient: Endoscopic Browlift and Upper Eyelid Lift Patients often ask at what age do I need to have my eyes done. While nobody "needs" to have their eyelids done, people start thinking about it in their late 30s. Even somebody like this who has wonderful skin texture and still has healthy periorbital tissues can have a significant improvement in overall appearance by getting their heavy brow tissue off the outside of the upper eyelids. This approach of an endoscopic forehead lift with an upper lid blepharoplasty can accomplish a lot in patients who are both young and old. |
