Located at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in the Department of Otolaryngology in Winston-Salem, NC, Dr. Neal Goldman specializes exclusively in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the face. Dr. Goldman is double-board certified by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, as well as the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. Dr. Goldman believes strongly in the Board certification process as a means to protect patients and works with the Board on the Task Force For New Materials to help determine the credentialing criteria and examination material for new specialists seeking board certification in the future.

Dr. Goldman began his medical education with a premedical BS degree here in North Carolina at Duke University. From there he went to the University of Rochester School of Medicine where he received his Doctor of Medicine with distinction, graduating at the top of his medical school class. He was elected to the very prestigious Alpha-Omega Honor Society during medical school. He received his Head and Neck Surgery training at Strong Memorial Hospital at the University of Rochester. Following his five years of Head and Neck Surgery experience, he completed a Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery fellowship with the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery with Dr. Wayne Larrabe and Dr. Craig Murakami at the University of Washington. Dr. Goldman then continued his training with a second fellowship in Craniofacial Surgery with Dr. Robert Stanley at Harborview Medical Center. He was Acting Assistant Professor at the University of Washington where he worked at Harborview Medical Center, Children's Hospital of Seattle, the University Hospitals and Swedish Hospital. During his time at the University of Washington, Dr. Goldman was the Facial Plastic Surgeon for the Department of Otolaryngology.

Dr. Goldman has published and presented on many topics of facial, cosmetic and reconstructive surgery including Botox, cosmetic surgery procedures such as endoscopic facial surgery, eyelid surgery, facelift surgery, nasal surgery, and skin rejuvenation, as well as reconstructive topics such as nasal reconstruction, post cancer reconstruction, and congenital deformities such as microtia and vascular malformations. He has been invited to the faculty at cosmetic and reconstructive surgery meetings and scientific meetings across the country, as well as in internationally in Canada and Thailand. He is proud to return to North Carolina to work with the Wake Forest University School of Medicine where he makes a commitment to bringing the latest in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery techniques to his department and contributing to education at the medical school.
